Dr. Ted Melchers, DMD

Dr. Ted Melchers graduated in 1984 from MUSC School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Association, The Academy of General Dentistry, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Other special interests are sleep apnea, treatment of snoring, conservative aesthetic treatment, and laser dentistry. Dr. Melchers approach to dental treatment is conservative with minimal invasion. It is the norm here, not the exception, for clients to experience truly pain-free dental care. In order to keep a stress- and pain-free environment, Dr. Melchers utilizes excellent techniques with the use of lasers, nitrous oxide, anxiety-reducing oral medication, and the use of new anesthetics.

Dr. Melchers has been married for 39 years and has 4 married children and seven grandchildren. He also has one dog and 4 grand-dogs. Some of his other interests include fishing, hunting, beekeeping, and playing trumpet. Dr. Ted has played with various musical ensembles in town including Charleston Community Band, Charleston Wind Symphony, South Coast Symphony, East Cooper Baptist Church Orchestra, and other music groups. Dr. Melchers is a fifth-generation Charlestonian and an active member and Elder of East Cooper Baptist Church. Dr. Melchers and his family have served in the Charleston and Mt. Pleasant community for generations.
